Deeth라는 몇가구 살지않는 아주 작은 마을이 네바다주에 있읍니다.
이마을은 서부개척당시에는 중요한 역할을 하였죠. 동부에서 힘들게 온 사람들이 캘리포니아로 향하기전에 꼭 쉬어야합니다. 이곳을 지나면 캘리포니아에 도착하기전까지는 물도 구할수없는 매우 황량한 네바다를 지나야하거던요.
이곳 이름은 Deeth라는 사람의 이름을 따서 지었다고도 하고, 혹은 이곳에서 물을 충분이 가져가지 못하면 죽음 (Death0 으로 간다고 하여 지어졌다고 합니다.

올해는 유난히 눈과 비가 많이와서 일부마을이 물에 잠기었읍니다.
1950년대에 고속도로가 완공하기 전까지도 이곳은 주요 열차정거장 이었죠. 지금도 쳘로가 사용됩니다.
