The NEX-C3 is the World’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens digital camera to sport a large APS-C size sensor. Weighing in at just around a half pound, the C3 is even lighter than the NEX-3 & NEX-5. The body of the camera has a streamline grip and has also shifted from a plastic top casing to metal.
The camera’s Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor and BIONZ® processor are also new and improved which means higher quality pictures. Expect 16.2 magapixel photos and 720p HD video.
Further, a new user interface is in place for those who want to add creative effects, letting you preview, apply and add fun, colorful effects to your photos directly on the camera. Also, look for “Picture Effects” in the camera setting for options to add retro elements, pop color, contrast and more. The new menu and options will give even newbie photo bugs a chance to create unique, custom-styled, high-quality photographs.
The NEX-C3 (with a 18-55mm kit zoom lens) will be available in August in silver, black and pink for $649. It will also be available in black with a small 16 mm f/2.8 kit lens for $599. You can find out even more about the new camera and new accessories from the latest release on Sony.com/news.
