"to kill Mockingbird"라는 소설. 한국에선 "앵무새 죽이기"라고 잘못 번역이 되어서 졸지어 모킹버드가 패롯이 되어버린 새. 

다른 새의 목소리나 곤충, 파충류의 소리를 흉내낸다고 해서 이름 지어진 새.

영화 Hunger game에 나오는 모킹제이는 모킹버드와 소설속의 새인 jabberjay의 합성어로 실제로 존재 하지 않는새.

밤늦게나 새벽에도 우는 새.  참 특이한 녀석이다.

    박제처럼 보이네요,
    색깔때문인가?? 아니면 단조로운 배경에 모델처럼 보여서 그런가? 아니면 깃털의 질감이 나무와도 비슷하게 여겨저서 그런가?
    턱수염이 난것을 보니 숫놈인가요 ;-)

    하여간 독특한 새 사진이라 생각합니다.

    요즘은 별사냥대신 새사냥을 다니시는듯.. 저희 8월에는 은하수 찍으러 갑시다.
